"Vanishing Nickel Coke"
This is the watercolor that launched a thousand ships. Accepted as one of 300 from over 10,000 entries to New York’s prestigious American Watercolor Exhibit in 1976, “Vanishing Nickel Coke” was my first painting of brick wall signs, now a trademark for me. Interestingly, I discovered this sign on a wall in my hometown of Kirksville, Missouri, — a wall I had passed by many times only two blocks from my house. One day, however, when I actually “saw” the wall and all of its complexity, it became a very challenging subject and led to many, many brick walls in my future art.

Giclée vs Litho
Printing technology changed when the type of scanners used to produce the printing plates evolved. That required changing my printing to the newest and more expensive Giclée Printing. Giclée (pronounced jyee-clay) is printed by a high quality ink jet printing process. Scanning is done in a higher resolution, producing better quality than the previous Offset Lithographic process.
